Maintenance

Palisade maintenance plans are designed to cover you when new software versions are released, or if you require help operating the software or resolving errors. Software updates are often released to keep current with changes in Windows, or in Excel or other host applications. Updates may also include bug fixes or minor product enhancements. Major version upgrades are released when new significant new features and/or interface changes are made to the software. Major version upgrades may also include updates to host application compatibility. Technical support is also included with Palisade maintenance. Whether through self-support using our Knowledgebase, via e-mail, or on the phone, Palisade is here to help with installation, operational problems, or error messages.

This webpage acts as an additional guide to software you may find useful during your time at Fuqua. Please refer to your course material on Canvas to determine what Excel add-ins you may require.

General Software

• Microsoft Office 2019 - Studentversion: For both Mac and Windows
  • Important information: Review the following document on how to properly download and install the correct version of Microsoft Office 2019 on personally owned computers: MSO 2019 download/install (for Windows) Office 2019 for Mac download/install (for Mac)
• VLC Media Player - Program for playing audio and video files.
• 7-Zip - Program for compressing and uncompressing files.
• Anti-Virus - Duke OIT recommends the following AV software for personally owned computers: Windows Defender (comes with Windows 10), BitDefender, Avast

Duke OIT Virtual Computing Manager for Virtual Machine:

If you are a Mac user, you may be required to run certain Excel add-ins that will not run within the Mac version of Microsoft Excel. In order to meet this requirement you will need access to a Windows based operating system. Fuqua IT recommends utilizing Duke OIT’s Virtual Computing Manager. Virtual Computing Manager is a service provided to the Duke community that allows easy access to virtual software packages, and semester-long virtual machine (VM) reservations. VM reservations may be extended at the end of the original reservation. Please review the document at the following link for details on requesting a VM: VM Request Process

Crystal Ball For Mac Excel 2016 Download

Please Note: Certain core classes at Fuqua require the use of Microsoft Excel add-ins. Not all add-ins are compatible with Microsoft Excel 2019 on the Mac.

How to find driver for unknown device windows 10. The following are the only add-ins that are compatible with both Microsoft Excel 2019 on Mac and Microsoft Excel 2019 on Windows:

The following add-ins and software programs must be used within a Windows operating system utilizing Microsoft Office 2019 Professional 64-bit. Many of the add-ins will not work properly if used with Office 365:

• People Express Simulator
• Statgraphics Centurion

If you have a Mac computer, you are required to be able to run all of the above add-ins and software programs in the courses where they are used. This can be done through the installation of a virtual machine, such as VMWare Fusion, or by utilizing a virtual machine through Duke OIT's Virtual Computing Manager system, as outlined above.
