Java for macOS 2017-001 installs the legacy Java 6 runtime for macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.12 Sierra, macOS 10.11 El Capitan, macOS 10.10 Yosemite, macOS 10.9 Mavericks, macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion, and macOS 10.7 Lion. I did download the javaforosx.dmg from the link you provided. It did not open automatically. When I clicked on the desktop icon a window opened with JavaFoOSX.pkg. When I double click on this icon the setup window opens and when I reach the Select a Destination section a message says: Java for macOS 2017-001 can't be instilled on this disc.

In brief, you need to install a JRE that matches the bit-size of LO rather than (possibly) your OS. Next, select that JRE version (if not already selected) within LO.
